“ Yummy beef noodle soup? Hot and delicious! Complete with greens and tendons with beef sections! I enjoyed the flavor. I saw there was salty pickled greens to sprinkle on the soup for more flavor. The chicken with basil and ginger was tasty but it has bones. Eat slowly and savor. I loved the cucumber salad. It seemed like rice vinegar, sweet oil, raw garlic and cilantro but it really hit the spot on this humid hot summer day! My friend even loved it as well! She introduced me to the oyster pancake, and I never had it before. It was very oystery and not bad. I honestly prefer raw oysters! I definitely would recommend the beef soup and side dish of cucumbers. So comforting on a empty belly. I would absolutely go back and try more! ”

“ I ordered 3 items from DoorDash: cold seaweed, braised park rice and bamboo pork rice. Packing is good with decent containers and utensils. But the portion is not very big compared to other stores. Oder online does have options to put special request in summary. Good over all is good and they read special request. Their food is not too salty. Suggest braided pork could cook a bit longer to have more flavor. Will try something V else next time ”

“ Happy Stony Noodle sounds like the name of a place for potheads who have late-night munchies. Gotta love them Engrish translations. Anyway, this was a pretty solid Taiwanese spot. Solid enough that I didn't mind the hefty train ride. The Stinky Tofu was one of the better ones I've had. The Oyster Omelette was huge and well-sauced. The Salt and Pepper Fried Chicken didn't come with basil, which was disappointing, but it came SPICY, and that made up for it. Love me some spicy fried chicken. Finally, the dish by which all TW spots are judged: the Red Braised Beef Stew and Tendon Noodle Soup. This was disappointing in that the broth was more tea-based than red-braised (no discernible spices or peppers), but they gave a ton of beef chunks and tendons that were very tender, so points for that. All in all, an okay rendition, but nothing to write home about. Thankfully, everything else we got was on point. ”

“ A fantastically authentic Taiwanese food experience! This place is where I frequent when I long for my comforts of home away from home. Their stink tofu is pungent and the real deal, perfectly fried with some cabbage garnish. I love their snow cabbage with tofu or fish edamame, perfect to pair with fried rice or knife shaved noodle soup. Don't miss their jian bing/scallion pancake rolled with egg and basil or beef! You really can't go wrong, every table around us was really happy with what they ordered! This is a cash only, no frills, mom and pop kinda place, where they serve hot oolong tea with every meal and the food truly speaks for itself. ”

“ The beef stew #50 on the menu is what I think is being referred to as beef noodle soup on here because they weren't 100% sure what I mean when I asked for beef noodle soup lol It's really good, beef is tender, broth flavorful, and noodles delicious..I can't compare it to anything else because it's my first time having Taiwanese.. friendly staff & yes it is a hole in the wall but it can sit around 25-30 people so it's not tiny per say ”

“ All is right in the world again because the original owners have returned!!! My boyfriend and I stopped by recently for a bowl of my favorite beef noodle soup, & we noticed that one of the owners was back!!! I'm always impressed by the level of perfection that Happy Stony has achieved with their beef noodle soup. It's such a humble dish, but the depth of flavor within the broth is outstanding (and surprisingly so, for how clear it is!). Noodle portions remain incredibly generous, and the mustard greens have returned to their former glory. Prices are $12 now for a bowl of beef noodle soup, but it's worth it given its portion size. I also ordered the hot & sour soup to satisfy my cravings, & they still make one of THE best soups. They've managed to achieve the perfect balance of hot & sour, and they don't skimp on the other fillings either. For $7, this could have easily fed 3-4. Do yourself a favor & pay them a visit - they've definitely struggled a bit with the pandemic. But I can guarantee that you're paying $12 for the best service & most comforting beef noodle soup you can ask for. ”

“ We came in on a friday afternoon around 5 for an early dinner before headed to LGA. The place was empty but began filling up as we got into our meal. Service was really good as we were the only ones there at the time and the food came out super quickly. I ordered the beef noodle soup with ho fun (wide rice noodle). I really enjoyed the noodles from here as it wasn't the typical opaque white rice noodle but more translucent with a slight chew. The beef was super tender and had a distinct flavor which I believe is the taiwanese marinated version. The broth was earthy and not beefy at all which surprised me. I would have preferred the beefy/meaty flavor but I didn't mind it. The mustard green rice cake with pork was sub par. The rice cakes were over cooked and too salty and there was a pool of liquid at the bottom of the dish. I would order it again though because I like the dish itself and if it was a fluke, I would like to give it a second chance. I especially enjoy this dish with hot oil and vinegar that they provide on the table. Next time, I will definitely try some appetizers with a larger group of people and bringing a bigger appetite. ”

“ From the outside, it looks like this restaurant is small, like a Chinese takeout place. However, once you step inside, there's room for customers to dine in. This place has little to no decor, and it is literally no frills. This place is a Taiwanese restaurant, so that's what they specialize in here. I ordered the seafood noodles, which isn't what is typically ordered here, but I like my seafood. There was shrimp, Octopus, and clams inside of the soup. It was a bit bland, so I had to add the condiments that are on the table into the dish. I wouldn't order it again. I did taste my friend's dish of the noodles with beef and tendon stew, which was better. I suggest getting that instead. Also, for the table, we ordered the three appetizers for $15. Got the seaweed, pig ears, and tendon. The meal was really inexpensive, and everything came out fairly quickly. I would go back to order other items off the menu ”
